Co-authored with Joseph T. Miotke and published in April 2016 by Wolters Kluwer in “The Licensing Journal,” this article is designed to present ethical challenges for IP attorneys, particularly in dealing with small organizations, single inventors, and start-ups. While the story is fictional, there are many twists and turns that have been catalyzed by similar real-life situations.

Joe Miotke is a patent litigator and licensed patent attorney at DeWitt Ross & Stevens SC, a law firm where his office is in the Milwaukee area. He is on the Leadership Team for LES Wisconsin as well.
